Policy

In compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA), McCrossan Boys Ranch has a zero tolerance policy for all acts of sexual misconduct including sexual abuse/assault and sexual harassment between a resident and another resident or between a resident and a staff, contract staff, or volunteer. Reporting Sexual Misconduct

All reports of sexual misconduct including third-party and anonymous reports are confidential and will be thoroughly investigated. Third parties may report incidents of sexual misconduct to the Executive  Director, Associate Director, or designee. Reports can also be made to local law enforcement or the Department of Social Services. They may also utilize the locked boxes located in the facility or use the formal grievance procedure to report incidents of sexual misconduct. Click here to find the grievance policy. Data Collection & Review

In compliance with the PREA standards, McCrossan Boys Ranch will make aggregated sexual abuse data available to the public annually. To view the data, click here.


McCrossan Boys Ranch will review aggregated sexual abuse data in order to assess and improve the effectiveness of its sexual abuse prevention, detection, and response policies, practices, and training including identifying problem areas and taking corrective action on an ongoing basis.  McCrossan Boys Ranch will prepare an annual report of its findings and corrective actions. Audit & Audit Report

McCrossan Boys Ranch will be audited by a certified PREA auditor. After the initial audit, the facility will be audited once every three years.
