 Make a Difference While Building an Exceptional Workforce

McCrossan Boys Ranch is seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our leadership team. This is an opportunity to play a key role in recruiting, developing, and supporting the employees who help transform the lives of boys and young men through a structured, caring, and mission-driven environment.

The Human Resources Manager serves as a strategic partner to leadership, helping foster a positive workplace culture while ensuring compliance with employment laws, best practices, and organizational policies. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and works closely with supervisors and department leaders across the organization.

Salary

  • $55,000-$65,000/year depending on experience

What You'll Do

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Lead recruitment efforts for all open positions.
  • Screen applications and conduct initial candidate interviews.
  • Coordinate pre-employment processes, including references, background checks, fingerprinting, and drug screening.
  • Research hiring trends and implement recruitment strategies to attract high-quality candidates.
  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation programs for new employees.

Employee Relations & Leadership Support

  • Serve as a resource to supervisors regarding employee relations and personnel matters.
  • Participate in corrective action meetings, disciplinary processes, and employee separations.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to supervisors on employment-related issues.
  • Promote a positive and professional workplace culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and employee engagement.

Training & Organizational Development

  • Assist with orientation and employee training initiatives.
  • Develop and facilitate supervisory and leadership training programs.
  • Support leadership development efforts through Leadership McCrossan and other professional growth initiatives.
  • Assist leaders with succession planning and employee development strategies.

Human Resources Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain employee records and HR information systems.
  • Coordinate employee benefits administration in partnership with the business office.
  • Assist with payroll-related functions and employee benefit tracking.
  • Process workers' compensation claims, FMLA requests, and affirmative action documentation.
  • Assist with policy development and revisions to ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and licensing standards.
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions for all positions.

Strategic HR Initiatives

  • Analyze workforce metrics, turnover trends, and hiring outcomes.
  • Conduct employee satisfaction surveys and recommend organizational improvements.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify current and future staffing needs.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining equitable compensation structures, including salary bands, market benchmarking, and pay ranges.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR-related technology systems.

Preferred

  • Three to four years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience.
  • Experience in recruitment, employee relations, training, compliance, and performance management.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience developing policies, improving organizational processes, and supporting workplace culture initiatives.

McCrossan Boys Ranch is seeking caring, dependable, and committed individuals to join our team as Youth Care Specialists. This is an opportunity to work directly with boys and young men ages 11–20 in a structured, supportive, and mission-driven environment.

Youth Care Specialists are responsible for the direct supervision, care, and safety of clients while helping create an environment where young people can learn, grow, and build a better future. We are looking for individuals who are interested in a long-term career making a difference. We will train ambitious, caring individuals who are ready to learn and grow with our team.

Position Type

  • Full-time
  • Benefits eligible
  • In-person position
  • Weekend and holiday shifts required
  • Weekend shifts receive an additional pay differential

Schedule

Weekdays: 2:30–10:30 p.m.
Weekends & Holidays: 8:00 a.m.–10:30 p.m.

Employees will normally work three weekday shifts and one weekend shift each week.

Weekend shifts receive an additional $1.50/hour differential.

Starting Wage

Starting wages up to $20-21/hour, depending on experience and education.

What You'll Do

  • Provide direct supervision, care, and support to youth ages 11–20.
  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive environment.
  • Build positive relationships with youth while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
  • Support daily routines, activities, programming, and responsibilities.
  • Monitor the safety and well-being of clients.
  • Communicate effectively with youth, coworkers, supervisors, and other members of the care team.
  • Follow McCrossan Boys Ranch policies, procedures, licensing requirements, and approved behavioral and safety practices.
  • Participate in approved physical restraint techniques when necessary to maintain the safety of clients and staff.
  • Complete required documentation and communicate important information to the appropriate staff.

Qualifications

Required

  • Caring, responsible, and dependable approach to working with youth.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to work required weekend and holiday shifts.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Basic computer skills, including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and email software.
  • Ability to participate in physical activity related to caring for clients, including the ability to physically restrain clients using approved restraint techniques.

Experience & Education

Experience working with youth is helpful but not required. We are willing to train ambitious, caring individuals who are committed to making a difference.
