McCrossan Boys Ranch of Sioux Falls is blessed to have an exceptional team of employees who make McCrossan and the services we offer possible. Our McCrossan family is made up of about 70 people, all contributing to provide "New Hope For A Better Life" for each and every one of our boys.
Brian has been the Executive Director at McCrossan Boys Ranch since 1998. He has over 40 years of experience in the Child and Youth Care field. Brian has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Corrections and Sociology from Mankato State University, as well as a Master of Science Degree in Child and Youth Care Administration from Nova Southeastern University. He also holds a Certificate of Excellence in Non-Profit Leadership and Management. In his free time, Brian enjoys golfing, fishing and competes in Masters Track and Field.
Steve has been Associate Director for McCrossan since 2008. He has been working with at-risk youth for 25 years in private, residential settings. During his time working with boys and girls, he has held a variety of positions including: Youth Counselor, House Parent, Group Leader, Team Leader, Residential Coordinator, Program Director, Dean of Students, Assistant Facility Administrator, and Associate Director. Steve has two Bachelors degrees (Business Administration and Alcohol and Drug Abuse Studies) as well as a Master of Science in Administration (Human Resources emphasis). Steve lives at the Ranch with his wife, Becky, and his dog, Henry. He is an avid outdoorsman, loves to hunt, fish, ride bike, run and read in his spare time. Steve has also competed in many triathlons and marathons!
Allison joined McCrossan Boys Ranch in 2024, assuming the role of Business Manager. Prepared with a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of South Dakota, she brings 15 years of experience from the healthcare industry to her position. She is enthusiastic about applying her skills to serve the Ranch. In her leisure time, Allison cherishes moments with her family, seeks out new experiences, and dedicates herself to learning about leadership and personal development through reading.
Christy has been with McCrossan Boys Ranch since 2002. Most of those years she has been overseeing the Ranch’s fundraising and marketing efforts. Christy graduated from South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications. She received her CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) credentials in 2009, one of only a few in the state of South Dakota to hold this honor. Christy is a member of the South Dakota Association of Fundraising Professionals as well as the Kiwanis Club of Sioux Falls, she is the current Chair for the Diplomat Committee with the Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce as well as an active member of the Sales and Marketing Executives of Sioux Falls. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time chasing her two kids around to sporting and school events and more - they are always on the go! She also loves camping, boating, concerts, photography and traveling.
Patty started working at McCrossan Boys Ranch in 1996 as a childcare staff. After two years, she became a Unit Manager and then, over the years, became a Senior Unit Manager with anywhere from 24 – 35 kids on her caseload. In 1998, Patty became our de-escalation/restraint trainer with the Mandt System with the philosophy of Treating People with Dignity and Respect. In 2012, Patty became the Program and Admissions Manager. In 2013, she also became the PREA Coordinator to ensure the safety of all individuals served at the Ranch and in 2019 she was promoted to Program Director. Patty has a degree in Sociology from Southwest State University. In her free time, Patty enjoys spending time with her friends and family, playing volleyball year round, traveling, bike riding and working out (some days).
Jeremy has been with McCrossan since 2021, first serving as Clinical Supervisor and most recently Clinical Director. He oversees mental health, chemical dependency, and nursing services at the Ranch. Jeremy has been working with at-risk youth for close to 25 years in correctional settings, psychiatric hospitals, public schools, and residential treatment centers across different levels of care. During his time working with at risk youth, he has held a variety of positions including Youth Supervisor, Youth Counselor, Behavioral Health Technician, School Based Clinician, Clinical Therapist, and Clinical Director in two facilities. Jeremy has two undergraduate degrees from Dakota Wesleyan in Psychology and Criminal Justice as well as a Master of Science in Community Agency Counseling from Missouri State. He has held an active License to provide Mental Health Counseling in South Dakota since 2009 and has been trained in various trauma informed modalities. Away from the Ranch, Jeremy enjoys spending time with his wife and three active boys. Most likely you will find him cheering or coaching them on at a gymnasium or ballfield nearby.
Troy has been employed at McCrossan since 1990 when he started as a child care counselor. In 1993 he started our Independent Living Program, then moved into a Unit Manager position by 1998. At times, Troy went back and forth as a Unit Manager and the Independent Living Coordinator until 2008 when he started doing Admissions and Marketing. In 2008 he also became certified in equine therapy and took over the barn which included the riding and draft horse programming. Troy has been teaching our children how to ride and drive the draft horses ever since! Currently Troy spends his time doing admissions, which includes interviewing and making sure the kids we serve are appropriate for our programing. The rest of his time is spent teaching kids how to ride, drive and take care of animals.
